Hello, Autumn

I've aways looked forward to Fall.  My classmates were upset when the sun would disappear and the books came back.  I, however, feel lost with no sense of purpose during Summer.  I'm no longer in school, but I still feel the same way during Summer.  Counting down the days until Fall's return, I cannot wait for normalcy.

Autumn is finally here, it's no longer marked by lined paper and pencils, but by the guide of TV's Fall line-up.  Those boring reruns that got me out of the house are gone, and new episodes and new series premier.  Good bye social life.

Yesterday afternoon, I whipped up a powerful panini and got cozy on the couch to catch up on a ABC's new superhero drama, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.  The show picks up where the Avengers left off, so I needed a snack that packed a punch.

This sweet and savory panini contained bacon, brie, apple butter and arugula on a focaccia roll.  The saltiness of the bacon in this adult grilled cheese was just enough to bring out the sugary goodness of the apple butter.

The ingredients developed into an explosion of Fall flavors.  It was definitely a successful beginning.
